Broken Tooth but Not Broken Insurance!
Client of a pizzeria calls and says a customer broke a tooth on something in his pizza. Turns out, a bolt off the cooler fell into the sauce, unknown by the baker. Customer submits an estimate to the owner for $2,947 to fix his tooth. Because we have $5,000 of medical payments on his restaurant insurance policy, it doesn’t require an attorney getting involved. Medical payments for a restaurant or pizzeria is there for just this reason - to pay a medical claim without a lawsuit! Not every claim needs to get an attorney involved to settle.
In this incident, the customer only wanted his tooth fixed! So a $2,947 fix wasn’t unreasonable and thus was paid out quickly, with an invoice from the dentist. Easy, quick and done! That is how restaurant insurance should work!
