Delivery Driver’s Could be a Liability Problem!
You hire that new delivery driver for your pizzeria and he/she says, I am covered on my insurance for this. Do you take them for their word or ask for proof?
Not all auto insurance companies will extend coverage to Door Dash or Uber Eats. Some insurance companies off it as an endorsement to an auto insurance policy but not all do.
Or are they direct employees of yours and now you need something called Hired & Non-Owned Auto Coverage, giving you liability protection on a car you don’t own?
Pizzeria owner’s are especially vulnerable to this because of the speed at which some drive to get in as many deliveries as they can. It’s putting your pizzeria at risk for a lawsuit regarding serious injuries caused by that driver.
Making sure coverage is in place before they take on ONE DELIVERY is highly recommended before you put all you’ve worked for at risk because of one, maybe un-trained delivery driver.
Be careful when your whole business could be at risk here.
